Your recipes on the Thermomix TM5
Settings your TM5 can do: 120 °C at most, Dough mode, reverse and Varoma. Zeste adapts every recipe you import.
Recent recipes often rely on the TM7's Browning mode, at 160 °C, which the TM5 doesn't have. A "sear at 160 °C" recipe then gets stuck on the screen.
Choose "Thermomix TM5" in the settings: Zeste never goes above 120 °C, sautés at 120 °C and sends anything that really needs searing to the frying pan.
Thermomix TM5 settings
- Temperature from 37 to 120 °C, no browning at 160 °C
- Gentle stir setting, then 1 to 10, Turbo
- Reverse up to speed 3, Dough mode
- Varoma steaming
- 2.2 l bowl: Zeste splits into batches above about 2 kg
What Zeste does for you

The same settings as on the TM6 and TM7: a soup doesn't need more than 120 °C. A recipe that needs searing would go through the frying pan.
Adapt a recipe to the Thermomix TM5 with Zeste
Choose your robot
In the app, Profile › Units and cooking robot; on zeste.cooking, in Settings. Turn on cooking robot mode and choose Thermomix TM5. You only do this once.
Import the recipe
Share the reel or video to Zeste, or paste its link with the + button. A web page, a photo of a cookbook or a PDF work too.
Open the robot version
On the recipe, choose Robot version: the steps appear with their settings. Cooking mode shows them as chips and starts the timer for the right time.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a subscription?
No, cooking robot mode is included in the free plan. Only imports are limited without Pro (5 video/link imports per week).
What happens to a step at 160 °C?
Zeste does it at 120 °C when it's about sautéing, or takes it out of the bowl (frying pan, oven) when the recipe calls for searing or proper browning.
I'm switching to the TM7, do I have to redo everything?
No: change robots in the settings, and the TM7 version is prepared the first time you open each recipe. The TM5 version is kept.
