Import your Instagram recipes
Paste the link to a cooking reel or post: Zeste automatically extracts the ingredients, quantities and steps. No more screenshots or paused videos.
A 40-second reel, a voiceover rattling off quantities, and the ingredient list tucked away in the caption. That's the Instagram format. Great for finding ideas, much less so when your hands are covered in flour.
Zeste reads the caption, transcribes what the person says in the video and cross-checks the two. The result: a recipe card with the ingredients, their quantities, the steps in order and the prep time when it's mentioned. You fix anything that's off, and the recipe joins your cookbook.
What Zeste does for you
- Instagram reels, posts and carousels
- Audio transcription + caption analysis
- Recipe translated into your language
- Step-by-step cooking mode on mobile
Import an Instagram reel into Zeste
Copy the reel's link
On the reel, tap the share icon (the paper plane), then "Copy link". On a computer, the address in the browser bar is enough.
Paste into Zeste
Open the Import tab on zeste.cooking or in the app, paste the address and confirm. On mobile, you can also share the reel straight to Zeste from Instagram.
Check and cook
The import usually takes less than a minute. Check the quantities, adjust the number of servings, then start cooking mode.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an Instagram account to import?
No. Zeste accesses the public content through the link. Private reels aren't supported.
Can I import from the Instagram app without copying the link?
Yes. On Android and iPhone, Zeste appears in Instagram's Share menu. One tap on Zeste and the import starts with the reel's link.
What if the video doesn't give the quantities?
Zeste keeps what it read or heard. A missing quantity can be filled in afterwards in the recipe editor, in two clicks.
Are recipes in other languages translated?
Yes, into the language of your profile: French by default, or English, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese. Translation is included in the free plan.
Do Instagram stories work?
Stories expire quickly and aren't always accessible. Stick to reels and permanent posts.
