No more pausing every three seconds

Paste the reel's link: in a few seconds, Zeste turns it into a proper recipe card, filed in your cookbook and readable even offline.

  • Pausing the reel every three seconds
  • Copying the quantities into the Notes app
  • Searching for "that pasta recipe" three weeks later

How does it work?

Three steps to turn an Instagram reel or a TikTok video into a recipe you can use in Zeste.

  1. Copy the video link

On Instagram, TikTok or YouTube, open the recipe video and copy its URL from the share menu.

  2. Paste the link into Zeste

Tap the + button in the app (or Import on zeste.cooking), paste the URL and start the import. From the Instagram or TikTok app, the Share menu sends the video straight to Zeste.

  3. Cook from the structured recipe

Check the ingredients and follow the steps in cooking mode on your phone or tablet.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about Zeste, AI recipe import.

What is Zeste?
Zeste is a French app (web, iPhone and Android) that uses artificial intelligence to turn cooking videos (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube) and web pages into structured recipes, then organizes them in a personal cookbook, with meal planning, shopping lists and a shared household. Zeste automatically extracts the ingredients, quantities and cooking steps.
How do I import a recipe from Instagram or TikTok with Zeste?
In the Instagram or TikTok app, tap Share, then Zeste: the import starts on its own. You can also copy the link to the reel or video and paste it into Zeste, with the + button in the app or on zeste.cooking. Zeste transcribes the video, reads the caption, then writes the recipe with ingredients and numbered steps in a few seconds.
Which sites and formats can Zeste import?
Zeste accepts Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and Pinterest links, recipe web pages (Marmiton, food blogs, etc.), photos of recipes, as well as text or PDF files.
Can I import a recipe from my computer?
Yes. On zeste.cooking, paste the link under Import. With the Zeste extension for Chrome (and Chrome-based browsers such as Edge or Brave), a button appears on Instagram reels and TikTok videos, and the Zeste icon imports any recipe page in one click.
Can I sign in with Google, Apple or Facebook?
Yes. On the web and in the iPhone and Android app, you can create an account or sign in with Google, Apple or Facebook, as well as with email and password.
Is Zeste free?
Yes. Zeste has a free plan, no credit card needed, with 5 video/link imports per week, 2 photo imports per week, 10 text imports per week, 10 file imports per week. The Zeste Pro subscription (€4.99/month or €29.99/year) unlocks unlimited imports, Chef Zeste, the Magic Fridge and wine cellar pairings.
How do I earn free imports?
By inviting friends and family with your referral link: in the app, Share tab, then Friends; on the web, in Settings. When a friend creates an account and confirms their email, you each get 5 free imports, on top of the weekly quota.
Does Zeste work with a Thermomix?
Yes. Turn on cooking robot mode in your settings: ml, cl and spoons are weighed in grams, and every recipe offers a version of its steps with time, temperature and speed, for a Thermomix or a similar machine. A scaled-up recipe that no longer fits in the bowl is split into batches. Robot mode is free.
How does the AI extraction work?
Zeste downloads or reads the source content, transcribes the audio if needed, then uses AI models to identify the ingredients, quantities, prep times and steps. The recipe can be translated into the language of your profile (French, English, Spanish, etc.).
Does Zeste work on my phone in the kitchen?
Yes. The Android and iPhone apps are on Google Play and the App Store. Step-by-step cooking mode, larger text, screen kept on and timers for hands-free cooking. You can also use the website or install it as a PWA.
What is the household?
The household lets you share recipes and planning with the people you cook with. Everyone has their own account; the cookbook and the meal plan can be shared.
Are my recipes on Zeste private?
By default, your recipes are private and tied to your account. You can share a recipe with a link, or invite members to your household.
Who makes Zeste?
Zeste is published by Start-Win, a French company based in Maine-et-Loire. The app is hosted in France.
