October 2026: what's changing in Zeste

A new bottom bar, a single field to import, cleaner recipes, filters, allergies, cooking mode and shopping. A look at version 1.4, and at what stays free.

Version history

  1. Zeste in your language, without leaving Instagram

    • •Share › Zeste from Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or Safari: the import runs in the background, and a notification tells you when the recipe is ready (app 1.6.1)
    • •Zeste in English (app 1.6), then in Spanish, German, Italian and Portuguese (app 1.6.1)
    • •Imported recipes, Chef Zeste, Magic Fridge and wine pairings in your account's language
    • •Widgets translated into all six languages
    • •Website and Chrome extension in six languages
    • •New welcome screen in video: a reel that turns into a recipe card
    • •Offline cookbook, check marks without signal and pending shares saved more safely, cookbook refreshed as soon as you come back to the app
  2. Cooking robots arrive in Zeste

    • •Cooking robot mode: ml, cl and spoons weighed in grams, and a version of the steps with your robot's settings
    • •Six robots to choose from: Thermomix TM7, TM6 and TM5, Monsieur Cuisine, Moulinex Companion and Cookeo, with settings checked against their user manuals
    • •Recipe scaled up beyond what the bowl holds: Zeste splits it into batches
    • •Sign in with Facebook, on the web and in the app
    • •Cookbooks you can rename or delete (the recipes stay), on the web and in the app
    • •"Clear all" to start over with an empty shopping list
    • •Reminders, seasonal recipe and year in review on your own time zone
    • •Clearer "Your imports this week" counter, free referral imports counted separately
    • •Scanned PDFs read page by page, calories and macros editable in the app, Profile organized into sections
  3. Zeste steps outside the app

    • •"Tonight's menu" and "My shopping list" widgets on iPhone and Android, items checked off without opening the app (app 1.5)
    • •Store mode: one aisle at a time, screen kept on, check marks saved offline and sent when the connection comes back
    • •My pantry: what you always have at home is set aside under "Already at home", shared with the household
    • •Products grouped in the list: "garlic cloves" and "crushed garlic cloves" on a single line
    • •After cooking, what's left of an opened package and two recipes from your cookbook to use it up
    • •A reminder the day before a marinade, a soak or a dough that needs to rise
    • •A seasonal recipe suggested twice a week, to add to your cookbook or dismiss
    • •Recipe card printable as PDF, wine cellar (beta), sturdier Facebook import and ChatGPT links
  4. The big tidy-up

    • •New app bar: Recipes, Week, +, Share, Profile, and everything two taps away at most
    • •A single field to import a link, several links or a text, and up to 10 photos for a recipe spread over several pages
    • •Units written like in a cookbook, quantities rounded the way cooks do, a photo of the dish generated when the source has none
    • •Dish type and tags on every recipe, quick filters, four sort orders, saved filters as cookbooks
    • •Orange banner on the recipe when it contains one of your allergens
    • •Timer that keeps running outside the app: lock screen and Dynamic Island on iPhone, notifications on Android (app 1.4)
    • •A single shopping list sorted by aisle and shared with the household, in kg and liters when needed
    • •Weekly meal plan shared with the household, a recipe sent to several friends at once
  5. A month of fuller imports

    • •Import a recipe from several photos, up to 10 pages or screenshots
